        1. UF online programs see new gains in 2020 U.S. News & World Report rankings

University of Florida online degree programs saw new gains in the 2020 U.S. News & World report rankings released today, with two of the four UF programs that were ranked climbing yet again and two others coming in among the best in the country.

UF Online, the University of Florida’s online undergraduate program, rose to the No. 4 spot in the country – up from No. 5 last year – in the U.S. News rankings for best online programs.

UF was also recognized for maintaining its leadership role among the best online graduate programs:

          • UF’s online graduate engineering program climbed one spot and is tied for No. 15.
          • UF’s online MBA program held onto its No. 4 position this year.
          • The College of Education’s graduate online program earned the No. 2 and has been at No. 1 or No. 2 for the past five years.

“I am pleased to see UF continue its excellent performance in the U.S. News online rankings list. It reflects the outstanding work being done by our faculty and staff and demonstrates that our students and the state of Florida overall are receiving a tremendous return on investment. UF Online in particular has been on a meteoric trajectory since it was created just six years ago,” UF Provost Joe Glover said.

The online rankings further expand UF’s growing leadership role in the U.S. News arena. In September, UF rose to No. 7 in the U.S. News Top Public Schools list, marking the third consecutive year with UF in the top 10.

In March, UF saw a 40 percent increase in the number of graduate programs now ranked among the top 30 nationwide, according to the 2020 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings. UF now has 28 programs nationally ranked in the top 30 in their disciplines, up from 20 two years ago. Of note, this includes seven programs ranked in the top 10, and 17 in the top 20.
